My Alps - virtual guide to the Alps

Hello to all who treat the Alps as your favorite place to rest.

Only here the whole Alps in one place: Austrian Alps, Swiss Alps, French Alps, Italian Alps, Bavarian Alps and the Slovenian Alps.

On this page you will find hundreds of links to websites that belong to the host of tourist facilities. Here you can find out where to go skiing in the Alps, where there are hotels, which are tourist attractions of the Alps, to learn topography of the Alps, to check what weather is in the Alps.

The contents of each bookmark are as follows:

Attractions

The Alps are the most attractive area of Europe. Does anyone disagree?

Attractions of the Alps were divided first by type:

    * The largest in the Alps - First map shows the biggest attractions of the Alps.
    * Regions - The Alps have a huge number of tourist regions. On this map were placed links to sites of regional tourism offices.
    * Natural attractions - First of all when we go to the Alps we want to see the magnificent panorama of mountains, glaciers, waterfalls, gorges.
    * Castles and palaces - the Alps, a land of castles guarding the mountain valleys and the palaces of kings and emperors
    * Sanctuaries - Places of pilgrimage, historic churches and monasteries. Mountains and mystic.

    * Technical attractions - Old mines are no peculiarity of the Alps, but the gigantic dam, or the factory, which you can see how cheese is made? Only the Alps can  offer this.
    * Zoos, botanical gardens, amusement parks - Let's be honest, the charm of alpine landscapes and romantic castles does not appeal to the youngest, as an holiday park or zoo.

The same objects shown on thematic maps, the following menu has been mapped individual states. In this division on the maps of individual countries are all of the above attractions. Maps are as follows:
Austrian Alps - Attractions,
French Alps - Attractions, Bavarian Alps - Attractions, Italian Alps - Attractions, Slovenian Alps - Attractions, Swiss Alps - Attractions.

At this point an important remark. It was considered, simplifying somewhat, that cover the entire area of the Alps of Austria and Switzerland. Hence all the attractions located on their territory, were considered attractions of the Alps. It is different in the case of France, Germany, Italy and Slovenia. For those countries gathered attractions found only in the Alps or in close distance from them.

Objects are marked with the maximum precision. Described are the following: the address of the facility, brief description, link to the website owner of the object, sometimes a photograph. In the "your address" you can type the name of any town, and it then will travel to the planned route of the selected object.

Skiing

For some people, there are only the Alps in winter. For them, I have developed the 400 ski resorts. In fact, ski resorts are much more, but I took as a selection criterion that the ski resort must have at least 4 ski lifts. Going skiing, so check where the skis can choose.

6 maps are prepared: Austrian Alpa - Ski resorts, Swiss Alps - Ski resorts, Italian Alp - Ski resorts, French Alpa - Ski resorts, Bavarian Alps - Ski resorts, Slovenian Alps - Ski resorts.

Ski resorts are described in the following data: the address of the facility, brief description, a link to the website of the host facility, the view from your webcam. In the "your address" you can type the name of any municipality, whereupon the travel route will be mapped to the selected ski resort.

Accommodation

The cheapest accommodation: Youth Hostels & Backpackers.

6 maps are prepared: Austrian Alps - Accommodation, Swiss Alps - Accommodation, Italian Alps - Accommodation, French Alps - Accommodation, Bavarian Alps - Accommodation, Slovenian Alps - Accommodation.

As soon as it is possible, the objects are marked with a maximum of accuracy.
Hostels: youth hostels, backpackers. With these two networks I use most. Worked out: Austria, France, Switzerland, Bavaria.
Accommodations are described in the following data: the address of the facility, brief description, a link to the website of the host facility, some photography. In the "your address" you can type the name of any municipality, whereupon the travel route will be mapped to the selected Facility.

Division of the Alps

This is not about a simple breakdown by country of: Austrian Alps, Swiss Alps, French Alps, Italian Alps, Bavarian Alps and the Slovenian Alps. This is a map of geographical division in accordance with the classification of the Alps SOIUSA. Developed data include 5 major chains, 36 groups and 132 subgroups.
Mountain subgroups are described by the following: name of the subgroup (mountain range), the name of the group, the name of the main chain, photo of highest mountain, and name and height of highest mountain, and links to information in the wikipedia page.

4000 mnpm

50 highest peaks of the Alps

Map of the 50 highest peaks of the Alps, or four-thousander Alpine. How many Alpine four-thousander? Union Internationale des Associations d'Alpinisme (UIAA) identified a list of 82 "official" Alpine four-thousander. The list contains many peaks of low prominence. Based on data from Peaklist prepared a list of the 50 peaks, whose excellence is more than 100 m. Wherever possible, the peaks are marked with maximum accuracy. Please select a satellite map by clicking on closer up and see a satellite picture of the selected peak. Please also see a map of the terrain, this will show more of the terrain.
